Most social networking sites diagram social connections to visualize relationships between individuals. These diagrams often serve only one purpose: representing who is linked to whom. To understand these relationships more deeply, and in particular to see how social links originate, I asked individuals in my own network whether they knew any celebrities or knew of anyone who knew them. Social Constellations: Telling Stories of How We Know Who We Know is a collection of such personal tales told in both diagrams and words.
